THE STORY

The building, the ancient Palace of Scoto di Semifonte, takes its name from the last magistrate of the city of Semifonte, which after a rapid rise was destroyed by the Florentines in 1202.The Scoto Family, originally from northern Europe, found a welcome in the fief of the Counts Alberti of Certaldo and erected his residence there. Benedetto Marcori bought the building in 1896 and his son Guido transformed it into a hotel / restaurant in 1963 with the aim of enhancing the atmosphere of a place that has a thousand-year history.
Today Alfred Kramer, Benedetto's great-grandson, continues the tradition taking care of the property with passion and commitment.

ROOMS AND SUITES

The 9 rooms are divided into 4 types, each elegantly furnished with modern and antique furniture. Rooms are quiet with comforts that make the guest feel truly relaxed.

All of the rooms are situated on the 1st floor of the castel and have widows that look out over Certaldo, San Gimignano and the Tuscan hills.

THE GARDEN

The ample and lush garden is idea for relaxing moments, outdoor dinners and to celebrate special occasions, whether it be intimate gathering or big party.

The expansive panoramic views of Certaldo and San Gimignano offer a marvelous scene at any hour of the day. We invite you to admire the rolling hills dittoed with cypress trees and caressed by the sun. At sunset everthing is tinged with pink and an unforgettable memory.
